The Stork is Circling

Hello Followers!!

Memorial Weekend has been nothing short of crazy. As our kennel starts to prepare for this litter, it is not surprised that we have once again been thrown for a loop. This weekend, our goals were to prepare the house for the holiday, get the farrier out for the horses, and enjoy the long weekend as a family. It has been nothing short of utter chaos as we canned tomatoes, had visitors, and a infant to keep us busy.  In the midst of all the busyness, we notice our female Aya who never causes trouble or does anything negative, is starting to dig. We look at each other.... oh no, its starting. We were not prepared, not this weekend. We notice the behavior and quickly set up Aya's whelping box. Aya who is unfazed about pretty much every thing, just stares at us panting. We check her milk, yup its there; check her genitals, of course swollen; contractions, maybe its hard to tell right now with all that fur.

After all the panic and getting set up, its now PUPPY WATCH. Our family is now checking in on "momma to be" hourly, breaking up babysitting by shifts so we can all accomplish the day's other
tasks. In order to prepare for this litter, we have set up a safe space for Aya to have her puppies. We have made Mother's Pudding, a high protein and calcium food, created by Puppy Culture, to provide extra nutrients to doggy mom's as they labor and feed their puppies. Spreadsheets for data tracking weight, birth times, and any additional notes to stay organized are printed and ready to go. Now its a waiting game.

Join us as we share our journey with our Ace and Aya litter from birth to when our puppies go home.
